DESCRIPTION

50Hz GPS receiver plug & play for Ducati models. The receiver uses the original dashboard as, time made will be displayed directly on your dashboard.

New version with the most famous tracks of the world predefined, you will never push the button to record the coordinates of the finish line. Download the manual and check the predefined tracks; anyway you can always set a new track manually.

The data is stored in the original instrumentation and can be easily retrieved on the display. The dashboard also stores the best lap, top speed and maximum engine speed achieved at every turn.

    IR system is constituted by an infrared receiver and its transmitter that produces a signal to the receiver when  it passes through the finishing line. It so possible to identify, with a 1/100s precision, the exact position of the finishing line both for our data acquisition system (if you don't want to use the GPS facility) and with other apparata with external trigger like Ducati 749/999 and 1098 dashboard or Translogic Dashboard.


    Connecting IR-system to the proper input of your Ducati 749/999/1098/1198 or your Translogic DashBoard it will be so possibile to see your lap time directly on your dashboard and, with Ducati 1098S, it will be also possible to have a trigger signal to easily read the data acquired by the internal data aqcuisition board.
    IR system is realized into two distinct models, AMP and TRL, distinguished by power supply, output signal and receiver connector.


    AMP receiver is suitable for Ducati 749/999/1098 and 1198, it is 12 V powered and produces a 0-12V output when lighted by the transmitter signal, it connector is a 3-poles AMP.
    TRL receiver instead has a Molec connector and an inverted output to to be compliant with Translocic system.


    Both models have a default 30 seconds dead time during which the receiver remains blind to other signals from the transmitter after receiving the first. in this way is possible to eliminate multiple trigger due to the presence of more than one transmitter on the pit wall.

    5Hz GPS receiver for original dashboards.

    Thanks to the straight-forward connections to the rear of the original instrument panel it is

    possible to transform your original instrumentation into an automatic GPS racetrack chronometer;

    enclosed with the product you will find the specific instructions which will guide you step by step

    GPS Laptimer / Datalogger

    Thanks to its 20ch  Sirfstar III  GPS antenna MiniLAP knows your position in each instant.

    When you turn on MniLAP, it will automatically detect the circuit where you are, within 20 preloaded.

    MiniLAP will set the finish line and you‘ll only have to practice and try to improve your performances.

    The circuit is not pre-loaded? This is for sure not a problem, with a simple click you will set the new finish line position that you can easily store with the name you prefer.

    Thanks to the download cable connection you can download MiniLAP circuits on PC or add new circuits to MiniLAP so you can create your favourite play-lists. And you will not need any transmitter but reaching 1/100sec precision.

    With R version you can store not only lap times but also speed and trajectories becoming close to data acquisition.

    Being based on GPS technology this lap timer is very compact and suitable both for a rookie and for a skilled pilot.

    It is in fact very easy to use and does not require any configuration, form the other side it is totally customisable: you can choose what to show on display with big characters on the main line and what to show an the small line and also what is displayed during freeze time.

    You can choose running time, total elapsed time, last lap time, best time, gaps between a lap and the previous.
    The remote GPS connection allows to put it in an optimal position to avoid problem due to vibration or possible shielding by the dashboard. 

    You will notice you don’t have a transmitter when you’ll use up to two splits you can put anywhere along the track.

    You’ll easily set the splits simply by pressing a  button: MiniLAP will store their GPS coordinates and you’ll have fixed references during your practice.
    Are you afraid to be distracted from driving having to check a time on a display? No matter at all: 3 green leds will flash and let you know if you improved in the first split or in the second or on the whole lap.


    Both basic and ’R’ version store max speed for each lap and for each circuit so you have a rapid remind of your performances.
    With one button only you can display all data about your Best Lap while with the apposite menu you can review all performed laps, up to 500 for each circuit, even divided into sessions if you like.

    The DAE (Data Extension) is a small accessory that allows you to extend the potential of miniLAP timer. The miniLAP (vers. R) thanks to its GPS technology allows not only to calculate and display your lap times but also to obtain the trajectories and speeds at any instant of your sessions on the track. If you are facing, through miniLAP, the world of data acquisition, thanks to the DAE you will expand the number of acquired channels and you will learn HOW to improve your performances. Thanks to GPS, and to the use of many splits, it becomes very easy to understand which parts of the circuit can be improved.
    Thanks to the acquisition of the GPS speed you can get a first information on the maximum speeds and on average speeds, and with them you can get a first approach to the study of how to improve.


    The next step is to understand if the gear is right, if you are accelerating too late, if the braking is not sufficient or if the suspensions are working properly.To obtain this information is necessary to acquire other analog channels (for sensors such as trottle opening, suspensions or braking pressure) or digital ones (rear wheel speed, RPM). The DAE can make your miniLAP acquire up to 4 channels at your choice. Its connector is equipped with 5 contacts, ground (for a proper reference) and four different inputs that can be chosen between a range of 1 RPM, 2 speed, 4 analog input and an output stabilized at 5V. Without adding any additional sensor to your bike, is it possible to acquire for example the RPM, the speed of the rear wheel, automatically derive from these two the gears, and add also trottle opening. By adding external sensors will then be possible to monitor braking pressure or suspension movements, setting up your DAE as you prefer.


    INSTALLATION:
    The installation of the DAE is extremely easy. You simply have to connect the DAE in series between your miniLAP and the GPS receiver by connecting the two PS2 plugs the first to the timer and the second to the GPS receiver. The 5 inputs AMP connector to 5 inputs already comes with a piece of wire to each terminal at which you can connect the sensor you prefer.


    CONFIGURATION:
    Through your serial cable used to download data from your miniLAP, it will be possible to Configuring your DAE. You simply need to use Danas (1:41 or higher version) to choose which inputs to enable or the sampling frequency. The DAE can indeed be configured to sample signals at 5Hz or 10Hz.


    DATA DOWNLOAD:
    Once data are recorded just connect the downloading cable download data from MiniLAP as usual
     

    Thanks to the functionality offered by the DAE module in addition to miniLAP you can acquire a set of data that you can use as overlay in video. In the video above you can see the amounts taken by one of our customer, thanks to software TrackVision and a video taken with a bullet cam, he got a movie of his run on the track very similar to that seen in the world competitions.
